At first I was quite excited and optimistic about learning about the stock markets. However, recently I stumbled upon the concept of "beating the market", and I keep reading everywhere that most people and many professionals consistently don't pass the S&P 500 Index, and that only about 5% of investors do beat to the market or whatever.
I lost my motivation to learn actions, is it worth it if there are professionals with more experience, education, resources, etc., than me who cannot beat the market? How many of you have really beat the market?
Honestly, I'm thinking of throwing myself into the S&P 500 and focusing on investing in things that aren't related to the stock market.
